What is O-1 Visa?
O-1 visa is a non-immigrant visa for the individual who possesses extraordinary ability in the sciences, arts, education, business, or athletics, or who has a demonstrated record of extraordinary achievement in the motion picture or television industry and has been recognized nationally or internationally for those achievements.
Who may be qualified for O Visa?
O-1A: individuals with an extraordinary ability in the sciences, education, business, or athletics.
O-1B: individuals with an extraordinary ability in the arts or extraordinary achievement in motion picture or television industry.
O-2: individual who will accompany an O-1, artist or athlete, to assist in a specific event or performance.
O-3: individual who are the spouse or children of O-1’s and O-2’s.
What are the advantages of applying for O-1 Visa?
O-1 is a dual intent visa. An applicant for a dual intent visa does not have to have a residence abroad which he or she does not intend to abandon.
O-1 is broader in scope than other non-immigrant visas. Athletes and entertainers may be eligible to apply O-1 visa, but they may not be eligible for other non-immigrant visas, such as H or L visas.
O-1 visa holders can extend their status for up to 1 year at a time and there is no limitation on the number of times they can extend their status.
O-1 visa permits the foreigner to work for multiple different employers in the U.S.
O-1 visa is eligible for premium processing. If the applicant decided to use premium processing service, the USCIS will response to his/her O-1 petition within 15 days or less.
What is the processing time for O-1 Visa?
